Zoroaster, also known as Zarathustra, was an ancient Persian prophet and the founder of Zoroastrianism, one of the world's oldest known religions. He is believed to have lived and taught in the 6th century BCE in the region that is now modern-day Iran.
Life and Teachings
Very little is known about the life of Zoroaster, as most of the information about him comes from the Gathas, a collection of hymns that he is believed to have composed. According to tradition, he received his divine revelation at the age of 30 and spent the remainder of his life spreading his message of monotheism and ethical living.
Zoroastrianism
Zoroastrianism is based on the teachings of Zoroaster and is centered around the worship of Ahura Mazda, the supreme god of light and goodness. Legacy
