Yong Lo was the fifth Emperor of the Ming Dynasty in China, ruling from 1402 to 1424. He is also known as the Chengzu Emperor. Yong Lo ascended to the throne after the death of his father, the Hongwu Emperor, who founded the Ming Dynasty.

Early Life

Yong Lo was born Zhu Di on May 2, 1360, in Nanjing. He was the fourth son of the Hongwu Emperor and one of his favorite concubines. He received a comprehensive education in Confucian classics, military strategy, and government administration. Yong Lo also demonstrated excellent martial arts skills and leadership abilities from a young age.
